Ny tidskrift!

  • Bells, pendants, snakes & stones / Yitzhak Magen
Josephus said the Samaritans built their own temple to the Lord on Mt. Gerizim. -- But was this Samaritan temple ever built? After more than 25 years of excavation, no temple building has been recovered.
  • Jesus of history vs. Jesus of tradition : BAR interviews Sean Freyne
Was Jesus really Jewish? Was his message unique in 1st-century Palestine? Was he born in Bethlehem? How did his early followers understand the resurrection?
  • Texts from Ugarit solve biblical puzzles / E L Greenstein
The writers of the Bible knew their pagan literature and used it to give meaning to their own sacred literature. Both Baal and the Israelite God ride the clouds. But why did the Israelites drink the remains of the golden calf?
